This tour will take you to enjoy Mekong Delta Provinces’ local life as well as the beautiful landscape. It also takes you to part of Cambodia such as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Cycling around Angkor is the best way to explore the temple complex. Explore Angkor complex on the shady road with tree lines. Most recently potholes have been eliminated. There is one temple in almost every Km, so it won't be boring and it is worth to stop and take photo. It is such a wonderful road for cycling, quiet and peaceful.

Our route is designed to take us off the main roads as much as possible. And we explore scenic back roads on the way to all our destinations. An air-conditioned bus will travel behind the group to support us.

Itinerary

Day 1.Ho Chi Minh City – Cho Gao – My Tho – Ben Tre (-/L/D)

At 07.00 AM, you will get pickup at your hotel and enjoy a scenic drive to Tam Vu. From here, you receive your bicycle and depart toward village markets on the Cho Gao’s Land (32km)  to enjoy a cycling trip on the village roads to the vast rice fields of Cho Gao, gardens, flower garden along the My Tho City’s outskirts.

Visiting the rice mill, vermicelli oven where noodles - speciality of My Tho – are made. You will have a chance to visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, the largest pagoda of Tien Giang, built in 1849 with over 60 Buddha statues of high artistic value and then go to My Tho Pier. Next, you will take a boat trip to Ben Tre - The land of coconut to enjoy a lunch with traditional Southern Vietnamese dishes.

After lunch, you will continue to visit Que Dua – a traditional coconut candy’s workshop and take a boat trip to Thoi Son Island to visit honey bee’s garden where feeding honey bee traditionally for hundreds of years in this Island.

Rowing boat to small canals, where the ecosystem associated with fresh water that is alluvial yearly and water coconut ranges nearby. Arrive at local farmer’s house, enjoy fruits, and listen to traditional folk song music… Back to My Tho by boat. Spend your night at the homestay. 

Day 2.My Tho – Cao Lanh – Chau Doc (B/L/D)

After your breakfast, you will say goodbye to your homestay and take a drive to An Huu for about an hour. From here, you will cycle to Cao Lanh (36km+). Have lunch in Cao Lanh. Next, you take a short cycle to Cao Lanh Ferry Port. Cross the river with the ferry. Leave the Ferry, you bike along the river to enjoy the peaceful scenery. You will bike for another 30km before getting back to the van and head to Chau Doc. You will cross another ferry to get to Chau Doc. Chau Doc is a riverine commercial center not far from the Cambodian border in An Giang Province. It has quite sizeable Chinese, Cham and Khmer communities. Overnight at hotel in Chau Doc. 

Day 3.Chau Doc – Sam Mountain (B/L/D)

Today you will have a light adventure. After breakfast, you will cycle to Chau Doc Market and then to Sam Mountain. Dozens of pagodas and temples, many of them set in caves, around Sam Mountain such as Tay An Papoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Temple. Visit LADY CHUA XU: founded in the 1820s, this pagoda stands facing Sam Mountain. After the visit to Sam Mountain, you depart to the outskirt of Chau Doc to enjoy scenic view with beautiful landscapes and a system of transport by waterways and motorcycle/bicycle only. Lunch is served on the way. After lunch, return to Chau Doc. Your afternoon is free and you can spend your night at hotel.

Day 4.Chau Doc – Boat to Phnom Penh – Visa on border (B/L/D)

You should obtain Cambodia visa in advance or you can have your pictures taken for Cambodia via before you go. Our local guide will pick up you at you hotel after breakfast and take you to the dock for boarding at 07.30 am. Enjoy beautiful scenery and life on water on the Mekong River from Chau Doc to the Phnom Penh city. The boat ride takes approx. 4 hours and you should allow another 1 hour for visa procedure. Check in the hotel. Have lunch. In the afternoon, take the bike for a ride to the back road and enjoy the peaceful scenic view before returning to Phnom Penh. Spend your night in Phnom Penh. 

Day 5.Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (B/L/D)

It will be busy day. Get up early. Have breakfast. We will pick up from your hotel lobby and head straight out from Phnom Penh into the stunning landscapes of rice and coconut trees as we make our way to Oudong Mountain via Phnom Basset. We stop to enjoy fresh watermelon along the way as well as a range of other tasty local snacks. As the day wears on, we see a hill suddenly jut out of completely flat countryside and this is Oudong, a great place for a meal and a great place for a view of the plains. After lunch, we get back to the van and head to Siem Reap. The drive takes you approx. 4 hours. On the way, you can see the local life as well as the peaceful scenery. Arrive in Siem Reap at around 05.00pm. Check in hotel. Have dinner. Spend your night in Siem Reap. 

Day 6.Small Circuit (B/L/D)

Depart from the hotel on the main road. Cycle through Angkor pass check point. Pedal through the shady road with a pumping ride because of the a few pot-holes. See Kravan Temple, Banteay Kdei, and stop at the famous Ta Phrom, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Visit Ta Phrom (45 minutes-1 hour). It was built in 12th century by the famous King Jayavarvan VII indicated to his mother. Many of the trees have grown around and through the remains and soar high above the temples.

Continue cycling through small circuit; pass Ta Keo Temple, Chao Say Tevoda and Tommanon before reaching Angkor Thom City. See Terrace of Leper King, Terrace of Elephant, Baphoun, Phimean Akas. Stop at Bayon Temple and start the visit (45 minutes-1 hour). Angkor Thom built by Cambodia's great king, Jayavarman VII. An eight-meter high wall encloses this ten square kilometre city, which is encircled by a moat. The famous Bayon, in the geographical heart of Angkor Thom, is a 54 remarkable tower temple. Initially the temple appears to be a shapeless mass of grey and brown stone, but it is only as you get closer that you realize every tower has the carved face of Avalokiteshvara on it. After the visit, cycle to Angkor Wat to finish the small circuit. Stop at South Gate of Angkor Thom for taking photo.

Access via a causeway over the moat that are flanked by statues of Gods on the left and devils on the right. Visit the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat. It is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking. Angkor Wat is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat in the form of massive 'temple mountain' dedicated to the Hindu god, Vishnu. 

Day 7.Rolous Group & Tonle Sap (B/L/D)

Today, you will have 50km of cycling to enjoy. Depart from the hotel, cross the bridge at Old Market to cycle 15km toward Rolous Group. The first 2km, is on the tarmac road toward the bus station. Pass the rice field and the village. Rolous Group was the first capital of Angkor Empire during 800 A.D. Visit the Pre-Angkorian temples including Preak Ko, Bakong and Lo Lei. Afternoon, cycle to Tonle Sap Lake. Turn left at the crocodile farm crossing the bridge. Pedal on small road along the river through villages, pagodas and schools.

After cycling 8km, turn right a-cross the bridge to the main road as there is no further access on the small road. Cycle toward the hill about 3km (July-December) to a wharf. (Note: January-June, the water is low and the boat will stop further 3km). Board the boat to visit a floating village, floating school, fishing farm. After 1 hour boat drive, return to Siem Reap on the main road. Sleep well at the hotel. 

Day 8.Siem Reap Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. Free at leisure until transfer for departure flight back to Ho Chi Minh City. Tour ends.
